On Saturday, 12th October 2019, the associations “Rīgas Kuģis/Riga Ship”, “Ancient Harbour Fund/Senās ostas fonds” and the Viking ship “Indriķis” organized a study excursion “Tour of Riga islands”.
Continuing the tradition of developing sailing skills in the Viking spirit with the Viking ship “Indriķis”, the associations “Rīgas Kuģis/Riga Ship”, “Ancient Harbour Fund/Senās ostas fonds” and Viking ship “Indriķis” organized a study excursion “Tour of Riga islands” by enjoying Zaķusala, Lucavsala and Ķīpsala from Daugava river. The team of sailors worked successfully on sailing tasks accompanied by Latvian and Livonian marine songs and chanties that are recorded in the album “Sea Songs” by Latvian University men choir “Dziedonis”.
Many thanks to all those who were not afraid of the autumn weather, especially to onboard members association “Rīgas Kuģis/Riga Ship” – Juris Zīle, the master of the Viking ship “Indriķis”, and Helmuts Šembelis for organizing the excursion.
