At the end of March 2015, the participation of the association “Rīgas Kuģis/Riga Ships” in the exhibition “Baltic Boat Show 2015” was successfully completed.
Taking into account the great interest of visitors about exposition and willingness to participate in “Senā osta/Ancient Harbour” project, we can conclude that the contribution of the working group, the funds donated by the members and supporters of the association to the exhibition successfully worked as a tool that gives new impulses to the further development of our goals.
Goal of association is to draw the public attention to the cultural and historical heritage of Latvia as a member of the sea state and Riga as a member of the Hanseatic League by studying the historical wooden ships of Latvia, the possibilities of their reconstruction and practical application in education, craft knowledge, culture, tourism and social recreation projects.
